The Nuevo originated after Vouch discovered how well the updated bottom contours of the Mid Vish performed. Applying the same principles to the ever-popular Evo resulted in a modernised evolution: a New Evo — the Nuevo.

The original Evo combined everything Vouch had been developing over the years: high rails in the nose transitioning to neutral and then low through the tail; a slight belly in the nose moving into a rolled vee through the tail; and fuller, more forgiving rails through the middle. It allowed surfers to enjoy the feel of Vouch’s more intensely rolled-bottom boards while still being able to ride confidently in less-than-perfect waves. The outline and foil remain as relevant today as ever.

The Nuevo incorporates subtle performance refinements that surfers have requested—especially the addition of side bites. The updated bottom contours offer a more powerful approach off the tail, while the rolled bottom and upturned rails in the nose still allow the board to be surfed well forward when the wave calls for it. True to Paul’s design ethos, it is easy to ride for any skill level yet still highly rewarding.

Expect drawn-out, swooping turns with the ability to pivot higher in the pocket thanks to the tighter fin cluster. A blended double concave between the side fins works with the rolled vee in the tail to create lift, speed and control—offering the best of both worlds.
