Noosa Longboards New Board Range

Go For It, We Did.

The essential form of a handcrafted surfboard hasn't changed that much since surfers first discovered the perfect points of the Noosa region in the mid-60s. What has changed however, are the expectations we place on today's boards.

Whatever else you want in a surfboard, you first want performance. Destined for a life of countless bottom turns, roundhouse cutbacks, lip bounces, barrels, tip time and powering through sections; it is going to take a relentless work out.

That's why Josh Constable and Dave Boyd have been equally relentless in their quest to push the envelope. In this latest range for Noosa Longboards they've combined their proven talents and innovative designs to advance the state-of-the-art to a state of shear exhilaration.

Surfboard designers like Josh and Dave describe their craft as simple complication. An ongoing quest built of the subtleties that are appreciated by surfers not for what they scream, but for what they whisper. So, go for it, take the drop on one of our boards, and like Josh and Dave you'll be stoked with its pure performance!

Noosa Longboard's Rider a Busy Man
It's been a hectic 2 years for Noosa's World Champion Longboard Surfer Josh Constable. It started with him winning Australia's richest longboard contest the Suzuki Pro back in 2005, followed later that year by the birth of his first child Jet, then his wedding to long time partner Anna Shisler last May.

There was more to come for Constable in 2006 with an incredible win at the ASP World Titles in Costa Rica and then winning his 3rd Australian Open Longboard Title at Yallingup in WA. Earlier this month Constable won his 3rd Noosa Festival Pro Title before travelling to New Zealand where he won the South Island Pro-Am on the weekend.

Late next month Constable will travel to the Oxbow Invitational in France, a world title event, before he hurriedly flys back to Australia where he will be competing in the Surftech Pro at the Malfunction Surf Festival at Rainbow Bay, Queensland Australia 8 - 13 May 2007.

Josh Constable takes R&R Sport South Island Pro-Am in Kaikora, NZ
19 March, 2007 : - - Reigning world longboard champion Josh Constable of Australia retained his hold on the South Island Longboard ProAm title winning the R&R Sport Open Men's Division in Kaikoura this weekend. Constable proved his versatility to progress through to the final despite conditions varying from large, gnarly waves on the first day to small half foot conditions for the final.

The open final saw Constable, New Zealand style master Darren McBride (Mnt), European amateur champion Elliot Dudley (Wales) and the Pacific Champion Micheal Burling (Gis) battle out small variable conditions in a chess like tactical battle.

Darren McBride was the stand out New Zealander of the event. Mcbride competed in three finals on the final day winning the Makita Old Mal and placing second in the R&R Sport Open Men's and Signmark Nose Rider to world champion Josh Constable.

Josh Constable Wins at Noosa Festival Of Surfing
Current World Longboard king Josh Constable beat out fellow Noosa local to secure the win at the final of the Odyssey 20/20 Men's Pro division at the Noosa Festival of Surfing. The natural footer put on a rip-roaring display in the 30 minute decider, registering 8.83 and 9.00 point rides for a final tally of 17.83 out of a possible 20 points in the AUD$7,500 ASP Australasia rated event.

Clean 1 metre waves were on offer at Noosa's First Point. Constable put on both a progressive and traditional display of surfing, bringing the spectator gallery to their feet on numerous occasions. For Josh it is the realization of a dream that has eluded him since 2002, when he last tasted victory at the Noosa Festival.

"All week I have done my best to stay focused on my surfing and simply enjoy it and the whole Festival atmosphere here in Noosa and it worked for me, I am so happy, tonight I will celebrate with my family and friends who mean everything to me," Constable said.

Josh, who had recently signed a new sponsorship deal with Noosa Longboards in the weeks leading up to the festival is now a co-owner in the business and had a lot on his mind, "We were flat out doing a whole refurbishment on the Noosa store which meant long days and draining nights, but the entire team really wanted to be open for business by the time the Festival started and it seems that all the hard work was definitely worth it," Constable said.
