    Managed to get a surf in this morning, good conditions for a change.
    I was most pleased how the board went, it paddled like a mal (as you said), it goes so fast, first good wave I got, it sat in the pocket really nicely, so much speed, Ithought I had melted the glass on the bottom! I would have liked to spend another couple of hours. This board is going to be a gem. It also turns very easily.

    Send you another update when I have had a few more surfs. Many thanks to everyone involved, the board is a head turner and a real goer.

    My 9yr old son decided that he wanted to learn to surf and even though we are land locked here in Georgia (We SUP on the lake), we have a bunch of trips planned this spring and summer and hopefully many more after that.

    Well I had a couple of business associates mention Noosa a couple of years ago so I thought I would check out your website for a board for myself that I could use when teaching my son.

    I ended up just liking the shape of your board better than most and am really looking forward to the first wave I catch with it :-) Thanks

    When you are thinking of getting a new board, you are confronted with infinite possibilities. What do I want?     Your order then goes to the world famous shaper, Tom Wegener, who begins making the board by cutting your board’s stringer. Tom insists on using the best wood for stringers and in the longer boards he uses half inch thick stringers. This gives the board extra rigidity and strength.


    When Tom starts to shape the board he only needs to cut 3mm of foam off the deck of the blank because the curve in the board is already perfect from the custom stringer. This is really important because the strongest foam in a surfboard blank is right on the surface of the blank. When you cut down into a blank the foam gets softer. By keeping the deck of the board in the strongest part of the foam blank, you get a board that will last a lot longer!

    Tom reads the custom order carefully and will often contact the customer to get a bit more information to make a board that will “fit” just right. Tom shapes the board in his iconic shed in the Noosa Hinterland where the atmosphere is mellow and things are done right, not rushed


    The boards then make the trip to Byron Bay where they glassed at the North Coast Factory. They make this trip because the crew at North Coast are the best in Australia. The consistency and quality of the workmanship is unsurpassed.
